Loom follow-ups: all answered
From your 2026-07-11 walkthrough videos + a follow-up chat.
Nothing needed unless something below is wrong.
Chris — the videos plus one conversation covered everything. Here's
what we're encoding, so you can sanity-check it in ten seconds:
-
1. Max effort percentages run off the day's target, not a stored 1RM.
You set the target together — around where the athlete was last
time, adjusted for how they feel that day — and sets 1–6 scale to
it. The whole build is designed so you don't fail: "there's always
tomorrow."
-
2. Speed work and 8x8 percentages use "the most obvious 1RM."
If the exact variation (bands, specialty bar, mods) has a tested
max, use that; otherwise fall back toward the core lift's max.
Specific first, core lift as the backstop.
-
3. Misses get marked and the session moves on.
No redo, no rewriting the plan mid-session. Avoid failure, ride the
edge of effort.
-
4. After week 3, a new wave starts.
Testing the movement in week 4 or 5 — sometimes after a week away
from it — is your call, not a rule.
If any of that is off, a 30-second Loom or a Slack message fixes
it. Otherwise you're done — the rest we read straight off your
sheets.
